Celebrates International Yoga Day with Week-Long Activities
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY - 2025
Golconda, Hyderabad : Army Public School, Golconda, under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Anitha Karunakaran, observed International Yoga Day with a series of engaging and inspiring activities throughout the week. The celebrations aimed to promote the importance of yoga for physical and mental well-being among students and the school community.
Renowned yoga instructor Ms. Himani Reddy from Veda's Yoga and Meditation Studio, Hyderabad, conducted sessions for students, focusing on exercises for the eyes, neck, and various body parts. Her sessions were well-received and encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily routines.
Highlights of the Yoga Day Week:
1. Yoga Demonstration at Golconda Fort:
In a unique tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage, 30 NCC cadets along with two dedicated teachers performed a synchronized yoga demonstration at the historic Golconda Fort. The scenic backdrop and the spirit of discipline reflected the essence of yoga and patriotism.
2. Inter-House Yoga Competition:
To foster healthy competition and skill, an Inter-House Yoga Competition was organized with enthusiastic participation from over 150 students. The event showcased the flexibility, balance, and concentration of the young yoga enthusiasts across various yoga asanas.
3. Yoga Demonstration by Classes 10 and 12:
Senior students of classes 10 and 12 came forward to inspire their juniors by demonstrating advanced yoga postures. Their performance highlighted the strength and poise achievable through consistent practice.
4. Yoga with Siblings:
To promote family bonding and collective well-being, a special event titled ‘Yoga with Siblings’ was organized. Students, along with their parents and siblings, participated from their homes, making it a truly inclusive celebration of yoga.
The week-long celebration concluded with a pledge to embrace yoga as a way of life, promoting inner peace and physical fitness. Principal Mrs. Anitha Karunakaran expressed her appreciation for the efforts of students, staff, and parents in making the Yoga Week a grand success.
“Yoga is not just an exercise, it is a journey towards a balanced life. We are proud of our students for embracing this ancient practice with such enthusiasm,” she said.
