EXPLORING  UNIQUENESS OF UNIVERSE AT APS GOLCONDA

Army Public School Golconda hosted a Sky Gazing at night for the students to enhance Space Science concepts and inculcate Scientific Temper among the students. The students and the teachers gathered to view the two brightest luminaries of night time, the moon and ‘The Evening Star’ Venus. The budding amateur astronomers gazed the waxing gibbious Moon higher up in the sky at sunset and moving toward the planet Venus on the sky’s dome amidst innumerable twinkling stars. The inquisitive learners also learnt about stellarium software and handling of telescope to see the realistic sky in 3D moon to be closer to Venus in the evening twilight sky . Though the students have been participating in Sky Observation Program every year, they felt it unique to observe the evening star swinging by the crescent moon in a calm and serene sky at night. The power of night sky not only boosted curiosity and imagination but also delve interest in exploring the world of astrophysics.
